Gail Gunderson, Ph.D., Director
Gail became Director of OHRD in November of 2002 after working as Leader of Organization Development with OSU Extension for 12 years. With a Ph.D. in education from Ohio State, she brings more than 30 years of consulting experience in helping individuals and organizations achieve productive and satisfying work. With background in counseling, organization development and education, her professional interests are in the areas of leadership and management development, career and life renewal, mentoring and coaching, and change management.
Eunice Ellen Hornsby, Ph.D., Assistant Director and Consultant
Eunice has a Ph.D. in Workforce and Adult Education from Ohio State and is pursuing a Masters in the Study of Law with Moritz College of Law. Eunice joined the OHRD staff in 1992. Her areas of focus include policy, strategic planning, performance management, linking pay and performance, organizational assessment, and qualitative data analysis. Eunice coordinates Ohio State's Sexual Harassment Speakers Group, which conducts training and education for the university community. Prior to joining OHRD, Eunice coordinated educational programs with the Office of Affirmative Action and held a variety of positions in student affairs at Ohio State and the University of Illinois.
Anne Massaro, M.Ed., Consultant
Anne Massaro has a Master of Education degree from the University of Georgia, is certified as a Professional in Human Resources, and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Workforce Development and Education. She joined the OHRD staff in 1997. Her primary areas of professional interest include performance improvement, leadership development, strategic planning, and diversity awareness. Anne coordinates STEP, a training series for Ohio State managers and supervisors. She enjoys working with supervisors to improve performance at all levels. Prior to joining OHRD, Anne held human resources and student affairs positions at the University of North Texas, Xavier University, University of Tennessee, and Appalachian State University.
Nancy Messerly, M.A., Consultant
Nancy Messerly has an M.A. in Guidance and Counseling from Ohio State. Nancy joined the OHRD staff in 1992. Her areas of focus include team building, group interaction, conflict resolution and assessing group and individual performance. Nancy works with the BEST program, a training series for administrative/office support staff, and helps provide leadership for human resources professionals (HRP) training in the Office of Human Resources. Nancy has worked with the Office of Human Resources since 1981, first in employment and then in staff training.
Meet Our Support Staff
Valorie Valentine
Valorie (Val) Valentine joined Organization and Human Resource Development and OSU in February, 2001. She currently serves as the Office Manager. She manages customer relations, coordinates workshop arrangements and supports consultants in their work with university clients.
