Do you shop for groceries? Mow the lawn? Clean your house? Play a recreational sport? Garden?
If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, you are already “walking” your way to the National Championship with the Buckeyes – now, just get rewarded for it! Get a team together and register for the Hit the Road with the Buckeyes challenge. Just keep doing what you're already doing, track your activities and you could win the “National Championship” – and the prizes that go with it!
What is Hit the Road with the Buckeyes?
Hit the Road with the Buckeyes is a physical activity challenge designed around the 2009 OSU football season. Teams of up to five can “walk” the distance to the Big Ten away football games by tracking daily steps. The challenge is sponsored by Your Plan for Health.
How does the challenge work?
Hitting the road with the Buckeyes is as easy as 1-2-3:
- Register.
Registration runs from August 24 - Sept. 23. - Track your mileage.
Each participant will be given a pedometer (provided in the kickoff kit upon registration) to track steps. Track your daily steps and log your steps online. It's that simple. - Finish strong.
All teams who go the distance will be entered for the grand prize drawings for the appropriate achievement tier. More information about the various tiers of achievement and corresponding prizes will be posted soon.
All benefit-eligible OSU employees can participate. Members of affiliated groups and graduate associates (includes GTA, GRA and GAA) who are enrolled in an OSU faculty/staff medical plan also may participate.
What's in it for me?
Health, prizes, points – all great reasons to hit the road with the Buckeyes! Pumping up your physical activity will improve your health, which is a prize in itself! If your team achieves any of the “tiers,” you will be entered for the random grand prize drawing for your accomplished tier.
In addition to prizes and health benefits, participants who make it to at least the "Bowl-Eligible" achievement tier will be awarded 10 points for the 2010 Your Plan for Health Incentive Program.
